MAIN MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION

The facility asociation BRIEŽDENIE is currently the operator of the Safe Womens House “POKOJ”. Since April 2016, this centre has become a temporary home for women, children who live in unbearable family circumstances and have been the subject of domestic and gender-based violence. By establishing a Safe Women’s House, our organisation decided to eliminate the domestic and gender-based violence against women and children, in line with the National Strategy and the National Action Plan for the Prevention of Violence against Women and their Children for 2014-2019.

Our main purpose is to contribute to increasing the effectiveness of helping women and children experiencing violence, public awareness on this topic, detailing the topic and increasing the effectiveness of prevention in the field of violence in relationships.

The main goal of our activity

The main purpose of our work is to contribute to increasing the effectiveness of aid to women and children experiencing violence, to contribute to raising public awareness on this topic, detailing the theme and increasing the effectiveness of prevention in the field of violence in pairs. We believe that it is the fundamental human right of every individual to live a life without violence and fear in a couple’s relationship.

Violence committed in a private area, intimate at home, is less visible, but more often than violence committed in the public. That is why it is necessary to break the barrier of silence and disregard. The specific nature of this type of crime is that it does not occur one-off, randomly, but runs in cycles and persists for a long time. We can only contribute to “seeing the invisible” by sensitizing the general public to the topic of domestic violence.
